Kirk Cousins Stays Healthy

Even if Cousins were merely an average QB, it would be worth bringing him back because he doesn't get injured. He didn't come close to getting injured in 2016. If this isn't an actual talent, staying healthy, it has to be regarded that way because it amounts to the same thing - it's a very valuable skill or ability. So much of the NFL is getting repetitions so that players can get used to one another and know what they are going to do in the different situations. This is much harder when the players are injured all the time. Most of all, the QB. Because even if there's no injury, the average career is only 3 point something years anyway. Flux is the rule, and anything that fights flux helps.

Cousins came in third in the main pass indices and will play in the Pro Bowl. It honestly doesn't matter whether the Redskins sign him for 100m or 150m, the odds are that he will deliver consistently above average QB play for the next five years. And if he varies from that, it will likelier be above that than below.
